Yosemite

Going up!The view from the top
This is literally a rock "bridge" you have to crawl over to get to the summit
The day after. The mountain peak over Teds right shoulder, is Clounds Rest. Yeah I climbed that.
One of my fav pictures Teds birthday Soufle!

Everyone that knows me, knows that I am not a camper. My idea of camping is staying at a holiday inn and walking to the pool. That is until I met Ted. Ted is an avid outdoors man, and for his birthday wanted to go to Yosemite and go camping and hiking. This made me a little nervous. So before we went on this big crazy hike, we went on a smaller one, up in Northern California to make sure I was ready. By little, I mean 11 mile. The biggest hike I have EVER, at that time, done. With that under my belt Ted was confident I would survive, I on the other hand was still not sure. But I went. I HAD SO MUCH FUN!!! I had no idea I would enjoy camping so much. Again, I am not one to like being dirty, or sleeping on the floor or anything like that. But it didnt bother me. To be honest, I was really surprised. It was a blast. The biggest accomplishment was the hike. 14 miles round trip, with 3500 feet elevation gain. It was intense. The hike is called Clouds Rest, and the summit sits higher than Half Dome. The view from the top was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. It made the pain and frustration of the hike more than worthwhile. It was the most physically intense thing I have ever done, it was so amazing.
A cute little side note, and one more reason why Ted and I are perfect for each other. On our way home from Yosemite, dirty, unshowered for three days, Ted asks if I want to eat at the Village Pub. A REALLY REALLY nice restaurant near the place he was staying up in Northern Ca. It made me smile, as outdoorsy as he is, he still likes his luxury. A man after my own heart. So we rushed home, got ready in ten minutes and went and had an incredible dinner. That day also happened to be his 30th birthday, it was a great ending to an amazing weekend.
