Our first Christmas

I have always loved Christmas, though the last few years have felt really lonely. And as it turns out, Ted apparently has felt the same way. This year we were both really excited about Christmas, seeing as we each have found someone amazing to share it with. So we went and bought decorations for "our tree". After some laughs and definite compromising, we had an amazing tree, a little rustic for Ted, a little glittery for me, but together the tree is very US. Growing up as kids Ted and I had a very similar tradition. Every year with our families we read "The Polar Express", and when the movie came out, we would watch the movie too. So while we decorated our tree, we decided to continue this tradition as ours, and we watched "The Polar Express". It was such a great night! I also bought us Christmas jammies!
Since Ted was leaving for Georgia the Sunday before Christmas we had our Christmas that Saturday. I made a big Christmas dinner. The main course, horseradish crusted beef tenderloin, mashed cauliflower, and green beans, and for desert a double chocolate souffle torte, with raspberry sauce. Dinner was AMAZING if I do say so myself! Then we exchanged gifts in the light of our christmas tree. And the best Christmas present of all, was sitting next to me the entire time. (Well the MICHAEL BUBLE tickets were pretty amazing too!!!
